About Us

Who are we?

The Westlock & District Learning Centre Society was one of 83 Adult Education Councils established at the request of Alberta Advanced Education in the mid-1970s.

We are Individuals, agencies and organizations who work together to identify and fufill the learning needs of adults in the Westlock region.

What do we do?

We plan, promote, coordinate and evaluate non-credit adult learning opportunities.

We have offered over 3,414 courses to 42,751 students (to end of 2010), this has been done in a coordinated, inter-agency basis in order that we can offer programs in a cost effective manner.

Mandate: “To provide for the local planning, coordination and promotion of educational opportunities for adults in the community.”

Who can belong?

Any agency, organization or individual who values lifelong learning.

Westlock & District Adult Learning Centre Society is a registered non-profit Society that has Charity status.  The Society identifies supports, promotes and facilitates adult life-long learning opportunities in the Westlock District.
Together we are working to support affordable local life-long learning opportunities. The Society runs approximately 120 programs a year to 1200 learners.
